Carrier boards for Raspberry Pi Compute Modules

One board.
Fewer boxes
at every site.

The PoE switch, the video recorder and the edge server, on one small board. Run the recording software you already use, on your own network, with no Exaviz account and no Exaviz cloud.

Built for the job you do

For integrators

One board per camera site in place of a PoE switch, a recorder box and a small server. Less to buy, mount, power and support.

What changes for integrators

For builders, labs and education

An NVR, a NAS or a Home Assistant server on a Compute Module, with PoE cameras plugged straight into the board.

Why Exaviz

What changes at the site

One board, not a stack of boxes

PoE camera power, network switching, storage and compute share one board. Your VMS runs on the same Compute Module.

No cloud in the middle

Video, storage and switching stay on your network. The board needs no Exaviz account and no Exaviz cloud.

Open Linux you control

Raspberry Pi OS, Debian 12 or 13 or Ubuntu 25.10 or 26.04 LTS, with our packages from apt.exaviz.com (the Banana Pi CM4 runs the Exaviz OS image). Bring the recording software you already know.

Cruiser

An all-in-one NVR, edge computer and PoE controller for the Raspberry Pi CM5.

  • 8 Gigabit PoE+ ports on a 120W budget (Cruiser Lite: 4 ports); add an Interceptor PoE Board for 8 more at 10/100 Mb/s, powered by the Cruiser
  • 2.5GbE uplink, an M.2 NVMe slot, and 2x SATA with hardware or software RAID
  • ESP32-C6 radio for 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth LE, or Zigbee

Use cases

One board per job

See how Cruiser and Interceptor replace the switch, the recorder and the server at a site.

Cruiser

An all-in-one camera site

Switch, recorder storage and compute on one board. Plug cameras into the PoE+ ports, record to SATA or NVMe and run the VMS you choose.

  • 8 Gigabit PoE+ ports on Cruiser, 4 on Cruiser Lite
  • 2x SATA with hardware RAID (DIP switch) or Linux software RAID, plus M.2 NVMe
  • Bring the VMS your customers already use

Interceptor

A camera recorder with no vendor cloud

Run the recorder on your own board. Video, storage and switching stay on your network, with no Exaviz account and no Exaviz cloud.

  • Up to 16 PoE+ ports (10/100) with one or two Interceptor PoE Boards
  • Five SATA III ports with software RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 or 10 for recordings
  • Run the VMS you choose.

Cruiser

An edge AI box

Put a Hailo-8 accelerator in the M.2 slot and run detection next to the cameras, on a Raspberry Pi CM5, without sending video off site.

  • M.2 Key-M (PCIe Gen 2 x1) for a Hailo-8 or an NVMe SSD
  • PoE+ cameras on the same board
  • Raspberry Pi CM5 compute

Coming soon, free with Exaviz boards

Exaviz Management

Coming soon, free with Exaviz boards: PoE port control, port groups, paired boards in one fleet view, storage usage at a glance and config drift alerts. No account and no cloud, and we stay out of your video.

We stay out of your video

Exaviz Management won't record, store or stream video. Keep the recording software you already use. We manage the board.

No cloud, no account

It will run on your local network over HTTPS, with no Exaviz account. One board in a lab or several paired on the same network.

What it will do

You'll be able to turn PoE ports on and off, group ports, pair boards into one fleet view and see how full storage is, with config drift alerts and an audit log of changes.

Exaviz Management won't collect any information about you or your network.

Coming soon. Want to hear when it's ready? Sign up for announcements.

Works with Home Assistant

Our Home Assistant plugin puts your PoE ports on your dashboard. See live power draw per port and what is plugged in, switch ports on or off and power-cycle a stuck camera with one tap. Install it from HACS and run Home Assistant on the board itself: Cruiser, or Interceptor with the PoE Board.

New: Zigbee mode for Cruiser's built-in ESP32-C6 radio. Choose PoE + Wi-Fi/Bluetooth or PoE + Zigbee, on Cruiser Full, Lite, and Keel. Install it with sudo apt install exaviz-tools, then sudo exaviz-flash zigbee, and add Zigbee Home Automation (Ziggurat radio) in Home Assistant 2026.7 or later. Home Assistant connects over your network and does not need to run on the board. Undo with sudo exaviz-flash stock. An antenna is required.
