Add 8 PoE+ ports to an Interceptor Carrier Board. Each port delivers up to 30W (IEEE 802.3at) at 10/100 Mbps, and a second PoE Board brings the carrier to 16 ports.
On an Interceptor, power comes from the 48Vdc Power Converter (sold separately). One converter supplies 240W: one PoE Board at 30W per port, or two PoE Boards at 15W per port. Use standard 8-wire Ethernet cables; the board delivers power on the spare pairs (Mode B).
On a Cruiser Carrier Board, one PoE Board connects to the onboard FFC connector and runs from the Cruiser's own 48V supply, no converter needed. It works on Cruiser, Cruiser Lite and Cruiser Keel, for 16 ports in total on Cruiser and 12 on Cruiser Lite or Cruiser Keel. Cruiser Keel has no onboard PoE and usually runs on a lower voltage, so give it a 48V supply when you add a PoE Board. All PoE ports share the Cruiser's 120W budget, so if you are planning all 16 ports, talk to us first.
The PoE driver is in the exaviz-pse-dkms package from apt.exaviz.com, for Raspberry Pi OS, Debian 12 Bookworm or 13 Trixie, or Ubuntu 25.10 or 26.04 LTS (see the Interceptor software guide). Exaviz OS images dated 2025-05-01 or newer (2025-04-30 for Banana Pi CM4) also include the driver. Exaviz OS is still available but is no longer being developed.
